INTERSTELLAR PROBE SCIENCE OBJECTIVES:
BULK PARAMETERS OF THE ISM:
- Neutral density of H, O, and C (inside and outside)
- Temperature of H and O (inside and outside)
- Ionization State for H, O and C (together with plasma measurements)
- For angular resolution see: Simulation of Oxygen
- He may be possible with metastable negative ion
COMPOSITION:
- H, O, C and possibly other minor species (inside and outside)
- Isotopes: H and D
INTERACTION AT THE HELIOSPHERIC INTERFACE:
- Velocity and Temperature of two components of H and O in the interface region (Hydrogen Wall)
- Filtration of H and O from the bulk flow change in the interface region
Neutral Gas measurements beyond the Termination Shock only possible with Neutral Gas Sensor
