INNER HELIOSPHERE SCIENCE OBJECTIVES:
INTERACTION AT THE HELIOSPHERIC INTERFACE:
- Deduce filtration of H and O from the bulk flow and temperature change compared with He (using gravitational focusing of the Sun)
- Constrain ISM B-field direction from possible flow vector deviation of O and H
- See figure: Simulation of Oxygen
BULK PARAMETERS OF THE ISM:
- Bulk flow vector (using gravitational focusing of the Sun)
- Neutral density
- Temperature
DETERMINE RADIATION PRESSURE DIRECTLY:
- For trajectories of H and possibly D
Neutral Gas and Pickup Ion Measurements complement each other and allow cross-calibration
